Nothin’ like a little midweek Shakespeare. Two houses, both alike in dignity. Very clever concept and set design. All around solid performances. The Nurse was a standout for me. Juliet was also amazing.

#osfashland #shakespeare #romeoandjulie At the end of a {somewhat bleak?} week, this was a good reminder that “you’d do the same.”

Like so much of life, the out-of-my-control low points are kept in balance by my intentional efforts to gather with those whose hearts hold The textures, the layers. Narration, group storytelling, getting inside the head, heart, and body of a character. Butcher-paper, markers, chalk + paint as willing participants in the on-stage action. Live music. Interpretive dance, movement. Clearly This was last Saturday’s show of choice. All the performers were great in their roles. We were both especially impressed with @notwildlin as AJ. The nuanced maturity and acceptance of that character inspired me. I wanna love like that.

What a lovely evening— beautiful music, beautiful dancing, beautiful scenic design, lighting, costumes, etc

Ariel’s got nothing on this sea nymph.
Saturday night’s light-hearted + energetically fun entertainment. 💜

I missed this one in Portland a couple weeks ago so I was glad for the opportunity to catch it in SLC. 😀

It’s a story about integrating a tv show in the 60s. The goo Friday night was Ballet West’s opening of The Wedding. These three short pieces were each unique, heartfelt, artistically amazing, inspiring, athletic, and incredible.

That any artistic company can survive (and thrive!) is no small thing. Bal Well this was fantastic! I’ve never read the novel, never seen the Disney movie, and never seen the musical— until now.

With an ensemble chorus of stones, theatrical-style narration, and center stage costuming of Quasimodo — this What I Learned in Portland while watching What I Learned in Paris: Believe the mirror. Also, cheers to self-loving women. 🥂I’m sure it was a play about other things, too, but this is what spoke to me.

Now I want to go to Paris. And Atlanta. Three more shows this weekend — Come see us in Gresham. The haunting, beautiful music of this show is not to be missed. Lovely lighting, sets, props, and costumes as well. Live orchestra 🙌. And the performers have utterly stolen my heart. They
